First Listen: Two New Songs From Coldplay
[photogallerylink id=48660 align=left]With a voice that starts almost at the floor and quickly rises to his trademark falsetto, Chris Martin, frontman of British superstar band [lastfm]Coldplay[/lastfm], and simple piano accompaniment kick off “Moving to Mars”, the newest single to be released off the group’s newest EP, Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall. The song lives up to its title and artwork, sounding like a travel through space and cosmic wonder, employing echoes, space-age guitar sounds, and the same art rock style that came off of “Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends”, their massively successful 2008 release.
According to sources associated with the band’s management, it is unclear as to whether “Moving to Mars” will be included on their upcoming fifth studio album. The single will most likely be released with the EP along with the title track “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall” as well as the other new track “Major Minus”. However, included in the EP or not, listening to this Bowie-influenced space rock single will definitely leave Coldplay fans wanting more.
