Really. What do you buy the person who has everything. Or the person who is getting a divorce? A Waring Blender?

[photogallerylink id=67314 align=left]I would certainly not make light of the end of a relationship, or a broken heart, but when someone “celebrates” a divorce, you usually don’t get both parties at the same party. But Jack White and Karen Elson celebrated their 6th anniversary by breaking up. They posted an invitation online last week announcing their plan to break up. They felt “very fortunate” for the time spent together and the time together they will spend watching their children grow. They have two kids. So they threw a party last Friday night in Nashville. The night before Jack attended his soon-to-be-ex’s gig at Bonnaroo.

The invitation to the party was ” only for close personal friends and family. So please no plus ones or dead beats.” And the party was scheduled to include “dancing, photos, memories and drinks with alcohol in them.” Not a lot of information on how the party went. With alcohol present you never can tell. But the fact that there were no police blotter stories in Nashville that night, guess it was all very civilized. This has been quite a year for Jack. He broke up the White Stripes, the band that featured him with his ex-wife Meg White. But Meg was one of Karen’s bridesmaids at the wedding six years ago. Not many ex’s sign up for that duty.

But we wish them both well. And hope they keep up the good vibes for the kids’ sake.
