[photogallerylink id=76023 align=left]Last week [lastfm]My Morning Jacket[/lastfm] released their latest album,
Circuital. Over the years the band has won over many fans on the strength of their epic live performance. The good news about
Circuital is that it was recorded live in a gymnasium in their hometown of Louisville over the last year, bringing some of that concert experience to the sessions. It’s an ambitious and eclectic collection that pushes the band to some new places while staying true to the classic My Morning Jacket sound. I spoke with MMJ’s Jim James about the recording of the album, the idea of the record’s title and where they came up with the sound for the album’s centerpiece, “Holding On To Black Metal”.
