Smashing Pumpkins Announce Reissues, Prep New LP

Billy is prepping a massive reissue series of the entire Pumpkins catalog, set to begin this year and continue through 2013. The remastered albums will come in waves. The second will feature the double album, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, The Areoplane Flies High, and Adore. Each album will include bonus material and while nothing has been confirmed, Corgan, said he found a copy of the band’s first live performance of “Starla”. He also found a cover of “Sweet Home Alabama”.
Fans will also have a chance to get Machina II for the first time commercially available in its entirety.
The Smashing Pumpkins are also hard at work on a new album planned for 2013 and will release Oceania in September. The song “Owata” will be made available for free online next week as part of the ongoing 44-song project, Teargarden By Kaleidyscope.
