Appendectomies For All!

An inflamed and enlarged appendix? Or a slice of bacon?

What’s up with all the baseball players and appendicitis? Late last year, as the season was winding down, the centerfielder for my beloved San Francisco Giants, Andres Torres, needed an emergency appendectomy. We thought this would be a major blow to the team’s chances of winning the NL West, but things turned out just fine. Fast forward to this year, and we’re seeing more and more players going under the knife, including a member of the South Siders!

Get well, Adam Dunn.

And get well, Matt Holliday. Uh, get well, and finish in last place.
