[photogallerylink id=10900 align=left]Have you ever been at the top of a ski mountain in February. More pleasant than opening day at Wrigley Field. I’ve made it to 25 of the last 26 opening days on the North Side. Icy cold and damp is pretty standard. What’s a fan to do?
I have some suggestions. If you look cool, you’ll be too cold. Save that thin commemorative Cubs jacket for the June swoon. Think Shackleton expedition.

Opening Day Rooftop Party
[photogallerylink id=70033 align=left]Long underwear top and bottom. Ski gloves. Cub hat with expandable headband so you can fit a knit cap underneath it. Heavy fleece top. Ski jacket. Double socks because my feet are always the second thing to go numb. The first? My brain. If the wind is off the lake, the bleachers are worth every penny because you are screened from the hawk. One year I checked the wind direction and wore ski goggles over my glasses. Looked really stupid, but I felt like a genius. Otherwise bring a blanket to throw over your head. Sounds like fun doesn’t it? I can’t wait. See you at 6am at Yakzies for the start of our live broadcast.
