[photogallerylink id=57147 align=left] [lastfm]The Smashing Pumpkins[/lastfm] have released their ninth installment for their massive 44 track project Teargraden By Kaleidoscope with a new song titled “Lightning Strikes,” available as a free download.
[lastfm]Billy Corgan[/lastfm] had originally written the song for California band [lastfm]The Electric Prunes[/lastfm] who’s bassist Mark Tulin just passed away. Corgan said, “I found an element in it that suggested a bigger picture, and unfortunately I stole it back from them. The lyric in my mind combines the isolation of modern life with the need for a never ending romantic story.” Corgan went on to say that the song is dedicated to Tulin and all the people who are currently affected in Japan.
