145 Jeff Tweedy To Go Solo For Charity

[photogallerylink id=53254 align=left]Taking a little time out from work on the forthcoming [lastfm]Wilco[/lastfm] album, [lastfm]Jeff Tweedy[/lastfm] once again will perform solo at The Vic Theatre for charity. Jeff’s annual springtime shows  benefit youth scholarships and  have become an incredibly entertaining tradition. It’s a chance to see one of rock’s finest songwriters mine his large and ever growing catalogue in an intimate setting that takes on the feeling of hanging out in a living room with an old friend.

Jeff has become an engaging performer with a quick wit and an awesome recall of his songs, which comes in handy when he  opens up the show for audience requests . Along with Wilco and Uncle Tupelo  favorites, Jeff has been known to surprise with a well placed cover or two.  Two years ago he pretty much reinvented Radiohead’s, “Fake Plastic Trees” . Trust me on this,  these shows make for a very unique and personal night with one of our favorite artists that is not only fun, but raises some dough for a good cause.

This year’s Youth Benefit Shows with Jeff Tweedy are Friday and Saturday, April 15 & 16 at The Vic Theatre. Tickets go on sale this Saturday 3/12 at 10am through etix.com and jamusa.com.
