1989 was a good year for music. That was the year I started working at Ponderosa Steakhouse as a dishwasher. I was a junior in high school then. Those were the days!

  • Jason Vancura

I believe there is a mistake in the playlist. I see songs that were out in 1984 on here too. I just thought I would point that out.

    • Wendy Rice

You are correct – there was a mistake in the playlist. Not sure how it happened, but 1989 suddenly morphed into 1984! Thanks to my buddy Ira, I straightened it all out and the list is now accurate. Sorry about that!

      • Jason Vancura

I just looked at the playlist, and it is fixed now. I remember those songs when they were brand new. I can’t believe 1989 was 22 years ago!

  • Art

Was this 1984 or 1989? When doves Cry and Walk through the Fire both were released in 1984. So was I;m on Fire. What’s up here?

  • Gene Strattman

What a great show Miss Wendy!
Great to hear some XTC & Style Council, some of my all time faves. The B-52′s was your sing-a-long special. I Thought the last 90 minutes were really strong….

  • Peter Armstrong

1989, the year my daughter was born. Now she’s working in a record store–cruel irony or poetic justice?

  • Tom

You may have left off The Godfathers’ tune “I’m Lost and Then I’m Found”

  • Chicago Steve

It looks like the list is wrong after “Higher Ground”. A lot of the songs after that weren’t from 1989 and it doesn’t match the airplay history from 3/5/11.

  • david m

Some of these songs are from 1984 not 1989

  • I.K.

1989 was the year XRT released the “Budweiser Chicago Pride Compliation, Vol. 1″ CD. A few used CDs & cassettes are still available @ Amazon.

  • Dave

I just tuned in a few minutes before noon and heard a song that reminded me of the “Heard it through the grapevine” guitar solo from CCR — but it was not that song.

Can you provide the details of that last song played as we hit the noon hour?

    Thanks much,
    Dave
