[photogallerylink id=65199 align=left]Trey walked onstage solo last night to a sold-out XRT show at the Riviera and opened with an acoustic set, starting with “Backwards Down the Number Line”, “Gumbo” and “Wedge.” Trey brought out two special guests, a Chicago woman and a singer/trombonist from the south of France. They played an energetic version of “Hey Ya” by [lastfm]Outcast[/lastfm].
Trey yelled out to the French woman “How do you say ice-cold in French?” “Glacee!” she replied. He then brought out his band: a flautist, saxophone, pianist, drums and bongos. They played “Heavy Things’, jammy versions of “Gotta Jiboo” and “Ocelot” and whipped the loud crowd into a sing along dancing cheering frenzy. Trey’s trademark open-mouth grin never faltered.
