[photogallerylink id=57812 align=left]Arcade Fire have been quite busy lately. They played received the GRAMMY for “Album of the Year” for The Suburbs (also #1 Album in the XRT Listener Poll) beating out the likes of [lastfm]Katy Perry[/lastfm], [lastfm]Eminem[/lastfm], and [lastfm]Lady Gaga[/lastfm].
So, besides all the GRAMMY stuff, what else is the band planning? Well, other than three sold-out XRT Shows this spring, the band is going to be releasing a deluxe version of their album with some new features.
Last week, remember how we told you about how the music video for the band’s song “The Suburbs” is actually a trailer for a film that is premiering at the Berlin Film Festival? For those of you who can’t make it, you can also catch it at South by Southwest. And for the majority of us who can’t make it to either, I have some great news for you. You know that deluxe version of The Suburbs I was talking about? It’s going to contain the film, a photo album and some new music! The deluxe version of the album is expected to be released in May, so were going to have to wait a little longer.
Check out the synopsis for the film from the Berlin Film Festival,
“I wish I could remember every little moment. But I can’t. Why do I only remember the moments that I do. I wonder what happens to the others.” A group of suburban youths. Back then, in the summer, so long ago. They couldn’t leave town because outside the country was at war and the military controlled life and all gateways. The teenagers wander aimlessly about town. Winter is a long way off. And love and longing and friendship still mean – everything.
I don’t know about you guys, but I’m so excited for the deluxe version of the album. This film sounds unbelievable, and I simply can’t wait for the new music. Everything they do seems to turn out great, and I bet the new stuff coming with the deluxe version will be no different.
