[photogallerylink id=53285 align=left] [lastfm]The Strokes[/lastfm]‘ bassist Nikolai Fraiture, in an interview with BBC Radio 1, said that the band’s much anticipated (and yet to be named) fourth album will be out this March. He said that “Sonically, I feel it’s the album that should have been made between Room on Fire and First Impressions of Earth, and further compared it to the band’s “classic sound.”
The group initially was recording the album in New York with producer Joe Chiccarelli, but ended up producing it themselves in guitarist Albert Hammond Jr.’s studio in New York. Hammond told NME that “We spent the last six months recording in my studio upstate and we are beyond thrilled with the 10 songs we have for this record.” With the recording all done, all [lastfm]the Strokes[/lastfm] have left is to mix all the tracks, so the March release date appears to be a very real possibility right now.
