[lastfm]Prince[/lastfm] began his tour last Wednesday at the IZOD Center in New Jersey, ending a four year break from touring for the “Purple Yoda” from Minnesota. He performed a mix of old and new material, starting the show with a new song called “Laydown.” But just a few songs later he was playing “The Beautiful Ones” from Purple Rain, Dirty Mind’s “Uptown,” and “Housequake” from Sign ‘O the Times.
As of now, the “Welcome 2 America” tour has completed three of its five scheduled dates, all in the New York area. However, the time gap between two remaining shows at Madison Square Garden (one is Dec. 29, the second Jan. 18) has some speculating that some shows will be added in between those two dates.
