Pink Floyd To Re-Reunite For Charity?

[photogallerylink id=38480 align=left] It’s happened before and [lastfm]Pink Floyd[/lastfm] drummer Nick Mason says that it may just happen again: Pink Floyd might just get back together to play for charity.  They last performed as a group at Live 8 in London in 2005 and he thinks that the group might like to repeat that concept.

Recently, guitarist [lastfm]David Gilmour[/lastfm] and bassist [lastfm]Roger Waters[/lastfm] put aside their differences and played together for the HOPING Foundation back in July, after which Waters wrote about the performance: “…great. End of story. Or possibly beginning.”

Mason says that charity would be the key to getting the band together again.  In an interview with BBC he said, “I think it would be a very nice way for a band to gently move towards retirement, by doing shows absolutely for charity rather than for more income.”   He also said that any shows, if they happen, would raise money for a charitable foundation that would distribute it to several causes.  He hopes that the band can do“something that’s not necessarily for us, but do something for the right reasons and enjoy doing it…That’s what I’d like, and I think the others might well see eye to eye.”
