The [lastfm]Who[/lastfm] only released one live album from their glory days and it is a masterpiece, brimming with excellent playing and raw power. At the height of their game, the Who delivered an unmatched combination of stunning visuals, dramatic presentation and unbridled energy all of which was captured on stage at the University of Leeds in England in 1970. Supposedly the band didn’t want to listen to all the hours of live shows they had recorded up to this point, so they burned the tapes (look it up) to thwart pirates and put all their eggs in the Leeds basket and released it as a faux bootleg. The rest is history, although a second show from Hull, recorded on the following night and supposedly a better performance, will be included in the new reissue.
