Great funk/soul music last weekend in Chicago. This weekend, two Phunky nights.
Last weekend, Saturday night was a great night for funk/soul music at Double Door with Chicago’s Lubriphonic and opener Your Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band from North Carolina (See concert-goer’s blog here.). This weekend, double funk, with one of the funkiest bands from the city with the most funk, New Orleans, playing two nights at Martyr’s: [lastfm]Ivan Neville[/lastfm]‘s [lastfm]Dumpstaphunk[/lastfm]. These guys are so funky they have two bass players, and they both have those five string bass guitars that go down extra low. See you there on Phunky Phriday.
