richard 385 About Richard Milne
A graduate of the acclaimed Radio/Television department of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, Richard Milne has been a weekend and fill-in air personality with WXRT since July, 1986

In 1991 he created Chicago commercial radios longest running local music show, Local Anesthetic. Heard Sunday evenings at 7:30, Local Anesthetic has introduced WXRT listeners to such top Chicago bands as the Smashing Pumpkins, Liz Phair and the Mighty Blue Kings via exclusive interviews and in-studio performances. Other guests have included such Chicago luminaries as actors John Mahoney, Billy Peterson and Joan and John Cusack. Since 1998 Richard has also been host of XRT’s daily Local Anesthetic “Capsule”. He and his family live in the Wicker Park neighborhood.

In addition to his role at WXRT, Richard and his wife Charlene run a musical booking agency, Rank Entertainment Incorporated, that provides local and national talent for private and corporate events. If you’d like some stellar live music at your next event, drop them a line.
Submission Guidelines

Please submit music, only. No photos, lyric sheets, press clippings, etc. Short, one page bio is OK. Make sure your name, contact info and song titles are all on the CD or jewel case somewhere. Be aware that airplay is limited due to show time constraints but that I do absolutely listen to everything as many times as it takes to determine whether your music is right for my show. I will also listen to tracks on your website but all airplay is off of CD so send your disc anyway. That allows me to listen to it in more places than just on my computer. I love 45s but include a burned copy, too. Thanks.

If you’d like feedback, I’m always good for a paragraph or two. Just ask.

    Mr. Milne:
What’d you think of Nate and His Kite? Honestly!

    Thanks,

Hello Mr. Milne- Gathering Moss sent a cd to you on Friday 8/6 so it ought to arrive Monday 8/8. I hope that you like it and would love to have feedback once you’ve let it grow on you. You’ve played Maxel Toft on your show before and since he is the bass player for Gathering Moss we thought it would be a good idea to see if you would like Gathering Moss as well. Maxel Toft & Gathering Moss will be playing a show together @ Phyllis’ Musical Inn on 9/23/10. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to any and all feedback. -Tom

Still love to listen to Richard Milne! It does thrill me, and has not killed me.

Mr. Milne made my 3rd shift gig tolerable.
