1 Submission Guidlines for Local AnestheticPlease submit your music and this signed agreement only. No photos, lyric sheets, press clippings, etc.

Make sure your name, contact info and song titles are all on the CD or jewel case somewhere. A short, one page bio is OK. Be aware that airplay is limited due to show time constraints but that I do absolutely listen to everything as many times as it takes to determine whether your music is right for my show. I love 45s but include a burned copy, too. Thanks.

Again, all submissions MUST include an original signed and dated copy of our license and release agreement. Click here to download the agreement.

    Hello,

I just moved back to the city after living down in Florida for 13 years. My little brother Kenny has a new cd he just finished and I would love to get to hear him on the radio. If you decide to play one of his songs could you send me an email so I’ll be able to tune in?

    TYVM,
    Larry
ps. I love the 2 piano songs and hot hot hot.

Richard, I don’t know another way to get a message to you, so I hope it’s ok through Local Anesthetic. I directed the documentary, Drive Somewhere, the Saga of the Vulgar Boatmen Rob Sullivan mentioned you were a big fan of the band. I mailed you a copy to your office. Lin has a small part in the film. It will be playing on Jan 8th at Schubas followed by the Vulgar Boatmen. We want to invite you or if you could mention the event, it would be appreciated

DRIVE SOMEWHERE, THE SAGA OF THE VULGAR BOATMEN

BELOW IS A SYNOPSIS OF THE FILM

What happens when your dreams are taken away. A fan documents the band on their drive to their final gig of their 30 year career. What do you do when you have sacrificed everything for music and then that’s taken away ? Beginning as 2 seperate punk bands in Indiana and Florida, a professor and student bond over Elvis Presley and the Sex Pistols and decide to send cassettes via the mail to create music that ” Buddy Holly would be Proud of”. Stellar reviews, cross country tours, European TV and seamless pop music and “The best album in the last 10 years”
“Their music is a cross between an Andrew Wyeth painting and a Robert Frost Poem”, one critic noted. This is the story of 1,000 bands, only this one is personal.

Includes interview with Alejandro Escovedo, Greg Kott, Lin Brehmer and Richard Buckner.

    Thank You;

    Hey Richard,
It’s hard for me to listen to LA everytime it’s on. How does one know if we make the cut or should we just assume if we hear nothing it’s back to the drawing board? Thanks for playing local stuff!

    • http://gravatar.com/richardxrt Richard Milne

      Mitch,

I let people know in advance whenever possible. Typically, I’ll have more music with than time will allow. So, I hate to tell somebody I’m playing a tune and than have to cut it because of time constraints. Feel free to e-mail me if you want to know if you’re being considered. I get back to everybody eventually.

  • Ray

Seconding Matty’s query below: do you accept e-submissions, or strictly discs sent by snail-mail? (Here is the youtube video on my song–not intending this as my formal submission, simply sharing the work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGCjjG4op_Y )
    Thanks much. –Ray

Sorry folks, I don’t check these posts too often. Use localanesthetic@wxrt.com to ask me a question directly.

To answer this last question; I’ll listen to music posted on band sites if you direct me to the address. I don’t, however, like hearing or playing mp3s on the air and will request higher quality files if I decide to play your stuff. If you got a disc, by all means send it. This will ensure I listen to your music in all the places I listen to music. Home, car, office, basement, garage, wherever. I don’t own an mp3 player and never have.

  • RA Prellwitz

Absolutely loved hearing “Midwest Hype”. Great sound. Want to hear more.

  • Arielle Galante

If we submit music and you choose to play it, will we be informed?
