Progressive Radio and New Media Programmer and Fun-loving Idealist
NORM!!! What’s happened?? I cannot get XET in Australia anymore!! What gives?? I’ve been been listening since 73 and when I moved to Australia.. I had to do a n XRT detox! When streaming came along, I thought I was back in ChiTown.. but now.. Norm.. CBS tells me I’m not in the right location… I’m sad Norm, VERY sad.. sniff, sniff.. How can once again listen to the GREATEST RADIO STATION ON EARTH??? Please tell me there’s a (free) way!!
Thanks Norm.. Go White Sox!
I was next to you on Wells Street earlier today and your car was so filled with your personal effects it looked like you were running away from home. Please come back, all is forgiven!
Enjoying the new site design. It is content heavy yet still simple to navigate. Since I listen mostly via Internet streaming, I am particularly pleased to be able to easily get the playlists for my two favorite bits of specialty programming, Local Anesthetic and The Big Beat, which do not display on the player. Across the lake here in Michigan, we may have a lousy economy and an abyssmally inept governor but XRT makes me happy. Thanks for that.
Any chance you could add music by The National to the station. The new album is outstanding and looks like it will be a big seller among the target group of WXRT listeners. Their past two albums Boxer and Alligator were outstanding and High Violet just got a big push from the NY Times with a 5 page write-up last Sunday. I like the fact the station is playing more indie rock and these guys are the kings of that scene
Hey check out this great new band….would love to hear their music on XRT!!!!
Please check out my Chicago music blog at http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/spool-going-round/

Have a great day!
Hi Norm…Once again XRT is schooling all other Chicago Radio Stations! Great Job!
I was wondering if XRT is going to play Eddie Vedder’s new single “Better Days” written for the Eat, Pray, Love Motion Picture. It is an amazing, uplifting tune.
Hope2hear soon…Many Thanks and keep Rockin Us!!
your loyal XRT listener, Joe
Marc has me send you a CD of the “The Blues Found Me” recently. He received his.
This CD is currently on regular rotation on the Galaxy Network and on Canada’s Blues Station, DAWG FM in Ottawa Canada.
The song getting airplay are Beautiful Tomorrow, Black Cat Bone, and Honey Hush as well as Feels Like Rain
The last 4 cuts on the CD were recorded live of the floor at the new National Music Centre of Canada/Cantos. and show our passion for the soul and blues.
Hope your station and program can Add us as well. Let me know your thoughts?
Happy New Year Big Guy ! greetings to Mitch and “Roller Blade” Paul..Tin Can Trust is one of Los Lobos best, they were terrific at The Vic a couple of months ago but the night before Richard Thompson and his band were fabulous ! …some of the best musicianship I’ve ever witnessed…after some 35 years I’m still a listener though my hearing is gradually fading…say hi to Lyn, NE.
It was really cool meeting you today. Your
introduction for the Alabama Shakes rocked!!! I feel very lucky to
have attended the show. THANK YOU ! Anyway, I’m a firm believer in
Happen Stance. Maybe there was a reason for running into you. Below
are some links to the “The SouthSide Exiles”.
Norm, can you play some Gaslight Anthem in your rotation? They have a new single “45″ that is really good. Their last 2 albums were excellent. I love the music you play and have been listening since the 1980′s. Give this band a chance, they will fit in well on your station.
